Internal Quality Assurance Reviews

Canada’s universities and colleges are, to a large extent, publicly funded. As such, most go through an internal quality assurance review of their programs to provide the public with confidence that their funds are being used wisely in the effective delivery of quality programs. Similar to a regulatory or accreditation review, internal quality assurance reviews require a thorough self-assessment and peer review of all aspects of a program, department, faculty and/or institution. Regulatory Approval Reviews

Many professional university programs, such as nursing, engineering, and teaching, are required to undergo a review by their regulatory body to ensure that graduates of the programs are sufficiently educated to safely enter practice. In these reviews, a thorough understanding of curriculum and pedagogy is sought to assure the regulatory body of the quality of the program. Accreditation Reviews

Often voluntary, accreditation is a quality assurance review that evaluates a program’s content and delivery against a set of criteria designed to assess the level of excellence to which a program is operating. Similar to an internal quality assurance review and a regulatory approval review in terms of what elements are being assessed, accreditation looks beyond the basics and seeks to support programs as they strive for a culture of continuous quality improvement. Accreditation is generally organised by a group of representatives of a profession to ensure future members are educated to an exacting standard. Program Evaluation

We can help you determine if an existing program is achieving its designed outcomes, conduct an external evaluation of a program you received funding for, and if an initiative in your organization is worth the resources to implement it. We can assist your organization by designing and conducting program evaluations, needs assessments, developing evaluation plans and frameworks, assessing the evaluability of programs, collecting, managing, analysing, synthesizing and making sense of data from numerous sources, communicating clearly and concisely to stakeholders, providing training in program evaluation design, implementation and management.
